Research Engineer
Axium Battery, LLC is currently offering an exciting opportunity in the growing field of alternative energy storage. Axium Battery has developed a breakthrough nanomaterials technology platform that has enabled the Company to demonstrate significant increases in energy density at both anode and cathode as compared to both established and emerging lithium ion battery technologies. The main objective of this position is to further research and development of next-generation materials for lithium-ion batteries.

The role of Research Engineer is to carry out complex experimental procedures under the supervision of senior scientists. The daily tasks include a range of activities from carrying out routine sample preparations to maintaining and operating sensitive analytical equipment.

The applicant should have strong math and analytical skills, with a preference for understanding of chemical and electrochemical processes. Additionally, mastery of basic computer spreadsheets is required. This position entails memorization of many safety, procedural, and experimental details. The Research Engineer will be called upon to observe and document the progress of all experiments, and to interpret routine results and data.

This position will provide a competitive salary and benefits package, with opportunities for advancement. Salary to be determined based on applicant’s experience. Immediate hiring is possible.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry
  • Attention to detail and ability to exactly duplicate a complex task
  • Experience in a scientific lab or research setting preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain analytical equipment
  • Manual dexterity to perform delicate device assembly processes
  • Research and/or job experiences in batteries are preferred but not required
